Thupello Driving Academy was established in 2014 by Director Moss Letsholo as a way of contributing towards reduction of road accident and creation of employment by empowering people with the driving skill.
Director Moss Letsholo has extensive experience. He worked for Eskom for over eight years as a Project manager, managing projects across a number of disciplines (Control and Instrumentation, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering as well as building projects).
Mr Letsholo studied Education and later on studied Mechanical Engineering. He developed a pass for teaching because of his teaching background. One of Mr Letsholo’s children has Cerebral Paulsly, this led to him adding another service offering for people with disability. He later extended the service training for people with short stature.
He has achieved a number of qualifications like Mech Eng.(NDip); B Degree Proj; B Degree Bus. Info. Systems; Program In Project Management (PIP) (University Of Pretoria). The fleet comprises more than 7 vehicles used for code 8 and code 10. We also have an automatic car as well as a car with adaptations to suit an array of disabilities.
What Make Us Special?
We train people with different kinds of disabilities. The only driving school in the whole of Africa that trains short stature people to drive (Dwarfism)
We partnered with The University of Pretoria to train students that wish to have learner’s and driver’s license.
We have a team of occupational therapists who assess our disabled clients, they then provide a report which our academy refers to, when training people with disability. The assessment will look at competencies like reflexes, coordination, perceptive abilities, cognitive abilities etc.
